It’s hard to believe I’ve been teaching and playing the piano for over 35 years! The thing is, I really enjoy teaching people to play! My career as a piano instructor began during high school when I needed a job. Other kids turned to babysitting, mowing lawns, or flipping burgers; I taught piano lessons. I guess I’ve always enjoyed helping people grow, as well as teaching them a lifelong skill. The opportunities I’ve had through teaching and performing are numerous; it’s actually how I met my husband! During my children’s growing-up years, I kept a studio on the side. Now that they’re grown, my studio has become my focus and passion.
In addition to teaching, I love being an empty nester with my husband and two dogs. We enjoy traveling and spending time with our adult children and their families. Life is good!
"Any musician who tells you that it's always fun is either lying to you or hasn't been a musician very long.
The truth is being a musician won't always be easy or be fun, but it will ALWAYS be worth it."
